A game about breast expansion has no right to be this genuinely good, fun, and engaging. Here I was, ready to get off to something, and now I'm invested in these fun characters and intriguing world! I CALL WITCHCRAFT!! ...Appropriately enough.
Are there any plans to release the soundtrack btw? This soundtrack SLAPS, the save theme in particular is such a bop!
It's possible to beat her at level 9! She does take less damage from purple spells though, so you might want to change your loadout. As for general battle tips, swapping characters in combat will restore some health, and high combos have a bunch of positive effects, even more so if you have combo spells equipped ^^
If it's still too hard, you can also lower the difficulty in the settings!
Glad I was not the only one who struggled with that battle. Yea, it is possible to get combo-spells by that point in the game. They help a bit and the tutorial about them isn't until a little past that point, so they are easy to miss.
But the biggest piece of advice I would have given myself for that fight is: if you lose your combo, just start the fight over. Avoid all the damage you can, but keep your combo going at all costs. It just makes everything better. Play around and learn the tricks that let you scam the meter to keep a combo going through resets and stuff.
Probably the best game I've found on this site, I have very few complaints about it.
The gameplay itself is super unique and surprisingly fun to play, though there are some problematic encounters like with the Imp, where sometimes the screen just becomes impossible to do much of anything on when you start getting the giraffe shapes and honeycomb gatling gun things that already eat a lot of the playable screen space for your heart, but then the Imp goes and spams massive lava balls that make it even worse.
Art style is beautiful, and the scenes are stunning, though admittedly traversing the map becomes a chore when the places you want to go to are far apart with a lot of stop and go movement. It'd be nice to have the option to just click on a part of the map and automatically begin traveling to it without interruption, especially when going long distances.
Leveling characters can be very grind intensive as well, and apart from stat increases I'm not sure entirely what levels are for other than as a progression system to slow rank ups on characters.
Other than that, everything about this game is superb, I do want to ask though, will we be able to take save data from the demo and begin where we left off when the full release eventually comes out? From what I understand the demo is like, 25-ish percent worth of the full release, and I've put in a solid 10 hours of playtime as of writing this comment, I'd love to be able to keep all the progress I've made thus far.
All in all, fantastic game, eagerly waiting for updates on it, even considering joining the Patreon to support it
Edit: Just finished the Demo, and I think I found some bugs. I didn't get a power orb from beating Nightmare, and I'm pretty sure I'm now softlocked out of being able to max rank my characters now, I might be in some sort of limbo state of pre-post demo, and post demo. I'm not sure.
I'll try to answer your complaints as best I can.
Some fights can be pretty difficult, and figuring out what to do and in what order can take some getting used to. I do plan on improving the balance in various, whether it be about introducing some concepts / shapes later, or reducing shape HP (which giraffe will probably get a slight debuff in that area in the future). So some fights might get even more chaotic than that later in the game, but the balance will be better in the early game and, if all goes well, the player will be better prepared to deal with this sort of situation!
I do plan on introducing fast travel later in the game, as well as implementing a way to simply hold a direction to keep moving that way automatically ^^
Currently that's more or less what levels are I suppose. Leveling will feel much more natural in the full game where all ranks aren't available this early. There will also be more to do and I have some EXP related plans which should greatly reduce grinding!
Your save won't work with the final game sadly, too much will have changed by then. I might add some sort of password skip that gets you to the end of the demo, but no promises there.
You're not meant to get a Power Orb from beating Nightmare! If you open the map menu and look through the various areas / floors, you'll see a treasure percentage above the map telling if you're missing stuff. You should be able to find what you need that way! (There is also a walkthrough here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/119207938)
NoseBecc, can you please tell me how to enter debug mode? Enter+LShift+F2? It's just i'm clicking them and nothing happens. (downloaded the latest itch.io version)
I just started the game a few days ago, if I leave one area to the next, will I be able to revisit and 100% them later, or do I have to full reset to 100% every area?
Can you please clarify - are you talking about the moment before you interact with Vestia at the center of Sablee (in front of the blue seal)? If yes - you won't be able to return to Sablee once you progress to the next area, so 100% every available location before that. UPD: And that is the same for other areas you will go through. See a warning with confirmation? - Better go back and clear everything.
Hi! ^^ There is! The save file is at "C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\BE_Witches", where XXX is your username. If you move the whole BE_Witches folder into the same spot on your new PC, it should work!
He's right though - back in the day there was 2020 demo and it had two versions in the download section, normal and hacked with every currency maxed out.
This might just be the greatest game on this site.
I spent a good amount of time in the original demo, beating the game to 100% as best as I can and then using that old txt file to guide me through the rest, and it was really satisfying! The gameplay is fantastic (I've always wanted to mix bullet hells with other genres and this does so without flaw), and the art and music are top-notch.
I only recently discovered the newer public demo, and it's been nice seeing the world suddenly blown out of proportion with new characters and lore and everything else I adore about it! I'm not one to put money into demos or f2p games in general, but if I did this game would be one of the first (even including non-adult games).
I recently came here to look for help getting past Biscotti, but upon reading other reviews it seems like the bubble is the last event that happens? The windmill interior gate is blocked, the house to the left is still closed, and I've scrounged around for anything else of note. Is there something I'm missing, or will I simply be spending a while with Cookie until the demo is expanded upon?
Either way, this game gets a perfect score from me. Well done!
You now have smash mode (scroll for your cursor to change). Go around whole Biscotti and smash all the barrels - some are golden and give solid money, some hide a lever/chest/etc. After that in order to escape Biscotti through the tunnels you need to enter the windmill from it's backdoor. Go inside of the abandoned cabin on the far right and little up of Biscotti, look for a wrong-colored leaf, tug it with normal cursor so a ladder would drop, on the "second floor" smash the rocks to find and press the button for another ladder to drop. After that you'll find a way into the windmill and there's a crawlspace into Biscotti tunnels that eventually lead outside of Biscotti's black bubble.
Last part of the game right now is Nightmare's Night Domain, where you finally fight Nightmare herself and where yellow seal is located.
Hello, sorry if that's not the question you want to hear as a game dev - any ETA on story content past Nightmare shenanigans?
P.S. Also, how about "reviving" the enemies ascension from 2020 demo? I know that ascended enemies was a NG+ thing and now there's too much plot and locations for that - what about returning that feature, but make the ascension depend on difficulty setting?
The next big update will mainly focus on BE content but will also have more party events where the party characters talk between themselves, some new quests, optimization, some reworked/improved mechanics and a few other things. As soon as this is done, more story content and new areas will be my primary focus!
I believe the value for ranked up enemies is still in the save files somewhere and can be edited. I'd like to re-add this feature at some point but I don't know what form it will take, or what requirements it will have and such. Linking it to difficulty is interesting but it would also "spoil" the BE which I'd like to be first seen through amplifying your own characters. But yeah! I'd like this to be back at some point ^^
Yeah, that was the issue. Bulumble-bee is goat, even though his sprites aren't exactly fit with the game's overall artstyle. Except for Fig (lamia) - strong feeling like he drew her straight from the chibi sprite. And any ETA on the BE update? If you aren't certain or want to keep a surprise - no need to answer.
Oh, I disagree, I think he's a great match! ^^ Fig wasn't actually drawn by him though, she was drawn by TheHelmetGuy :B
I don't have a date on the BE update yet, sorry. I'm currently waiting on a GameMaker update and taking care of as much graphical stuff and new dialogue as I can in the meantime. I do post monthly updates on patreon if you'd like to follow the development though! Just about everything on there is public.
After getting to Cerelea, I feel like I'm not understanding the core game mechanics. Destroy shapes, match colors, cast spells, observe enemy attacks/buffs/debuffs(?) Seems pretty simple. I'm doing it all and getting nowhere. If anyone has any guidance, I'd appreciated it. I haven't really been enjoying the game so far.
Just some general advice then, I recommend equipping at least one combo spell! There is a page in the Biscotti shop explaining how they work ^^ Equipping relics can also help! And finally, there is also a difficulty slider in the settings. Don't be afraid to lower it if you need to!
Honestly, I didn't expect to fall in love with this game.
The gameplay is just so well balanced and polished, every single room is just filled with secrets, amazing art and character. The art style gives me heavy Paper Mario vibes, and while playing, I kept thinking—this is exactly how a Nintendo Paper Mario game made for PC would be like.
I really wish I had jumped into it sooner! But the beginning just felt a bit overwhelming, mainly because I had trouble telling what was interactable versus what was just part of the background. It made it a little hard to get into at first, and I ended up putting it off for a while. Maybe some subtle color adjustments in the opening section could help with clarity. That said, it was the only part I struggled with during the ~20 hours I spent playing.( Jesus those 20 hours went by fast)
I hope you the best, because honestly this rocks with or without BOOBS!
There is definitely room for improvement, especially at the beginning. I've already redesigned the structure of the Ocean dungeon to be a more concise introduction for example. This and a bunch of other improvements will be part of the next big update, whenever it happens!
hey, great game but there is a minor problem i'm having. after i beat the game i went back to sablee to finish all of the puzzles there, but none of the enemies are spawning that would usually drop spiral sand, so i cannot complete the pyramid puzzle. is there another place i can get it?

lol thank you so much! I'm glad ^^
Not every single track has been released yet, but you can find most of the OST here: https://soundcloud.com/commodorekulor/sets/be-witches-demo-ost
Why is it prompting me to find that big guy, but when I click it, it says to find her, even though she is right in front of me?
I'm sorry, but I'll need more context to help you! A screenshot would be good as well ^^
I'll also link you to the walkthrough just in case: https://www.patreon.com/posts/119207938
Why i cant play ?
As soon as I launch the game it gives me this error message:
FATAL ERROR in Vertex Shader compilation ShaderName: shdr_ItemShine
D3DXCompile failed - result
at gml_Object_obj_Title_Draw_0
Follow the instructions in the README file to fix it.
How should I make the fox battle in the forest, it's impossible... I've both Rose and Vuu at Level 9, is that the problem?
It's possible to beat her at level 9!

Yeah I had to lower the Difficulty... Anymway, is normal that I grew just one time or I forgot something on the way before the Fox?
You'll be able to rank up again soon!

oh, guess that mean a full reset then ._.
You do get to revisit every single area once you beat the demo, don't worry about 100% at the start!
Hii!, hey, I have a question, I have a new PC, and I want to know if there's a way to save my progress or move the save data to the new pc?
Hi! ^^

what happened to the hacked version that could give you the ability to activate the expansions without leveling up
That's a feature tied to the debug mode in the patreon version.
He's right though - back in the day there was 2020 demo and it had two versions in the download section, normal and hacked with every currency maxed out.
Only bad thing about this game is the fact it isn’t complete yet.
Absolutely phenomenal stuff. Can’t wait for next update
lol thank you! I'll do my best ^^

As mixamasl said there is a bit more game before the end of the demo :B
not gunna lie i played this game not exspecting much, looking for copper and found straight platinum! though i hope for hyper breast expansion stuff!
great game, even greater story
Aw thank you so much! ^^
I'd say the biggest sizes for some characters could be considered hyper!

Forgot to ask in the initial comment - what is the difference between Lunlun's (tiger girl) skins?
Are you playing on an older version maybe? They used to be the same but I replaced one with her new sprite about 2 months ago ^^

I just revived a ghost. Now what? (Yes, I realized the irony)
You can now add her to your party through the Biscotti save room! There is a sign there that will explain how to access the character select menu ^^
i kid you not, i figured it out right after i posted that comment! i just forgot to take it down. But thanks anyway!
I'm not too sure I understand, are you having trouble fighting Cerelea? Or after?
I beat her now. I ended up finding the revive lady and made a ghost and rank 2'd her. Helped a lot but I barely made it through.
Good job!
Just some general advice then, I recommend equipping at least one combo spell! There is a page in the Biscotti shop explaining how they work ^^

This might not mean much if you haven't reached it, but it ends at the Night Dome. It takes about 20 hours to get there generally!
hey, great game but there is a minor problem i'm having. after i beat the game i went back to sablee to finish all of the puzzles there, but none of the enemies are spawning that would usually drop spiral sand, so i cannot complete the pyramid puzzle. is there another place i can get it?
Weird, are you sure you're on B1F of the ocean? Encounters don't spawn in 1F!
That being said, there is also a spiral sand in a secret chest (the button is where the cursor is in this screenshot)
